Where are you from?
Diane is a native of the Boston, Massachusetts area, having moved to El Paso, Texas in the 1980s and Arizona in the 1990s.
David was born in Alabama, moving to Dallas, Texas in the 1980s. He attended the University of Texas at Austin – though they all seem like a pleasant blur… moving to Arizona in 2003.
When pressed for an answer to this question, we both just answer… “around”.
Are you on vacation?
We’ve built a life we don’t need to escape from. We can’t imagine what a “vacation” would look like in our world.
Do you ever return to the US?
Since leaving in 2016, we’ve been back once to get COVID vaccine shots.
At this point, we have no clear plans to return to the United States in the future.
Where is "Home"?
Home is wherever the two of us are together.
In 2012, we sold our physical house in Bisbee, Arizona and took on a nomadic life of wandering with intention.
Our feeling of “home” is not a place, or a building.. it is our feelings for each other.
Why does Wally have BG plates?
As Americans living in Europe, it is difficult to register a vehicle in our own name.
We currently operate a holding company in Bulgaria that allows us to own and register our van legally.
