Waterspouts and Earthquakes (and Dolphins)

Waterspout off of Isla Mujeres, Mexico

Waterspout off of Isla Mujeres, Mexico

Just when you think you could not add anything else into a great evening with friends, sitting on the back deck watching the sunset over the Caribbean, along comes a storm that produces a waterspout… with dolphins swimming by, jumping out of the water… and then you notice that the water in the pool is sloshing.  A quick check of earthquake monitoring site lets you know that on top of all of that, the Earth at your feet is literally shaking.

Yep, just when you think that Mother Nature is putting on a good show, she ups the ante and pushes it into overdrive….and any other metaphor you can think of!

Living close to nature, as we do most often, allows you the opportunity to notice these things which would slip by in the hurried pace of normal suburban life.  Even mundane things like the phase of the moon become important data points in your life when you live this life.  I know that I am ‘lost’ when I can’t tell you where in the monthly cycle, the moon is today.  I’ve been inside too long!

Nature is amazing.  Living with nature is natural.  In my life, for us… that is the only way to go!
